Lined Pencil Skirt - Cut and stitch

In our previous class, we saw how to make the patterns for a pencil skirt with lining.
In this class im going to teach you how to cut and stitch our skirt.
i love to stitch garments with linings.

TIPS:
* Mark all your seam allowances so your seams will match perfectly while stitching the facings, that gives more quality to your garment.
* If your fabric needs it, use interfacing for the facing pieces.
* Use a beautiful fabric for your lining. It gives a beautiful plus to your garment.

Pencil skirt Patterns

In the next class I'm going to teach you how to make a pencil skirt, so today we are going to make the patterns.
You need the basic skirt patterns, if you don't have them, you can find that class here: Basic skirt patterns.

We are going to make a simple transformation to our patterns marking the main point for a pencil skirt such as skirt length, seam allowances for the zipper and the back slit, and facing patterns for the waist.

Basic Skirt Patterns

In this class, we are going to learn to draw a basic skirt pattern. If the skirt is made using the pattern without any change, the result is a straight skirt of the desired length. Or if you want you can make transformations to these patterns to obtain different types of skirts.
In any case, the basic patterns are drawn using custom measurements, in this case. Or if you want you can consult size charts to obtain industrial size patterns, following the same layout procedure.

Necessary measurements:

Waist contour
Hips contour
Hips length (from waist to hips)

ERRATA: where it says "waist length" it must be "hips length"

The video includes instructions for adjustments that should be made to patterns for different body types and to solve common problems that we can find when making skirts.
